How to use essential oils internally

Some of the essential oils can be ingested, you should check the label of the oils before using them internally.

When ingested, essential oils enter directly into the bloodstream through the gastrointestinal tract, where they are transported throughout the rest of the body. Essential oils are easily transfer to all organs of the body, including the brain.

Always follow label recommendations and other professional dosing guidelines when using essential oils internally.

Effective methods of internal uses

  • Add essential oils to water, shakes, milk, tea or other drinks.
  • Put a drop under the tongue
  • Take a vegetable capsule or add it to a small amount of applesauce or yogurt
  • Use oils in cooking or baking recipes to replace fresh or dried herbs and spices (remember that essential oils are much more potent than dried or fresh herbs and spices, so start with a small amount. Use a toothpick. for particularly potent oils).

How to use essential oils aromatically

Essential oils have an aromatic use that turns out to be very powerful.

By using our sense of smell, essential oils are absorbed by smell receptors, which generates a variety of physiological, mental and emotional responses.

Smell receptors have a direct link to the limbic system, which is the part of our brain that stores memories and emotions, which can produce stimulating or relaxing effects.

To diffuse the essential oils aromatically you can use a diffuser; You can also achieve the same benefits by placing a few drops of essential oil in the palm of your hand and vacuuming the oils deeply.

Other ways in which you can use essential oils aromatically are:

  • Apply oil to a cotton ball and place it on the vents of the vehicle.
  • Mix oils in a spray bottle with water and spray the mixture on furniture, carpets or bedding.
  • Add essential oil in the washer or clothes dryer.
  • Use in household surface cleaners.
